The S&P 500 is trading at its all-time high.
Currently, 28 stocks on Our Watchlist are on ‘Buy’.
Let’s update our Buy-Hold-Sell List. Which stocks look attractive right now?
Buy-Hold-Sell List
I don’t own a fancy sports car.
But if I did, I would want to protect it like it’s my firstborn.
That’s where XPEL ($XPEL) comes into play.
How does Xpel make money?
XPEL makes money by selling paint protective films (PPF), coatings, and window tints that keep cars looking new.
PPF is a clear, thin sticker that you put on a car to stop the paint from getting damaged. It protects the car from:
Scratches
Rock chips
Bug splatter
Sun damage
Furthermore, XPEL also sells window tints and ceramic coatings that keep vehicles cooler, cleaner, and shinier.
It’s a classic picks-and-shovels business. They don’t make the cars, they make the stuff that keeps cars looking brand new.
Car lovers want their vehicles to look perfect. And as more people buy luxury cars, EVs, and fancy SUVs, the demand for protection keeps rising.
And guess what? XPEL is a buy on our Buy-Hold-Sell List right now.
The reason is simple. We think the market underestimates XPEL’s growth potential.
Buy-Hold-Sell List
The Buy-Hold-Sell List is a list of quality companies. We wrote a few articles about it in the past:
We look for cheap Quality Stocks based on three valuation methods:
Comparing the Forward PE multiple to its historical average
Earnings Growth Model
Reverse Discounted-Cash Flow
Based on this, we give each company a Buy, Hold, or Sell recommendation.
Update July 2025
Since the last update, I’ve removed Semler Scientific ($SMLR) from the Buy-Hold-Sell list.
How does the company make money?
Semler Scientific makes money by selling medical devices and software that help doctors detect heart and artery problems early.
The company doesn’t meet our quality criteria anymore and I don’t like the fact that they try to convince investors buying their stock by investing in Bitcoin (Semler Scientific owns 4,636 Bitcoins).
We have also updated the recommendations for some companies since last time.
Two companies went from Hold to Buy:
Teqnion ($TEQ): Buys and runs small niche industrial companies in Sweden
XPEL ($XPEL): Sells paint protection film and window tint for cars
Seven companies went from Buy to Hold due to increasing stock prices:
Buckle ($BKE): Runs retail stores selling casual clothes and accessories
Cactus Inc ($WHD): Provides equipment and services for oil and gas drilling
KKR ($KKR): A global investment firm that buys companies and manages assets
SDI Group ($SDI): Acquires tech firms making scientific instruments and cameras
Thermador Group ($THEP): Sells heating, ventilation, and plumbing products
TransUnion ($TRU): Provides credit scores and data services
