An investment in yourself always pays the best interest. Today I’m sharing something special: The Best of Compounding Quality. An overview of the best articles written so far.
Though by professional background I come from the polar opposite end of the investing (over two decades at Tudor) I appreciate the perspective, diligence and openness of Compounding Quality. Indeed, I have forwarded many a post to my twenty-something boys as they embark on their respective journeys.
Pieter- I started a project in January to test a hypothesis I've long had that it is too often difficult to readily explain why a stock is having a big price move on any given day. While many of these moves might still be considered noise, there are days like Weds for Ulta that bear closer scrutiny. In the long run, the value of this exercise will be less about delivering credible sound bites but identifying connections between the catalysts behind the moves and the frameworks investors use to decide what is and is not important.
Here is a link to our note from Weds [https://bigmoves.substack.com/p/big-moves-april-3-2024]. I would appreciate the opportunity to hear your thoughts as a fundamental investor with a rather explicit framework you use.
Yes, professionally I come from a more trading oriented background... That said, in my PA I've always been more get it and forget it. Ironic. Would love to compare notes.
